I’ve been in the Employee Benefits space for 40 years and have never witnessed such a shift in employee needs. The pandemic has caused employers to increase their focus on the health and wellbeing of their employees.
Three considerations employers might make to ensure a healthier and more productive workforce:
- support physical health
- promote a flexible work schedule that’s advantageous to the employee and still satisfies the employer’s needs
- provide enough benefit options to satisfy a diverse workforce. For example, millennials have much different needs than baby boomers who are still working
