Each Watko client is unique in its set-up and administrative needs. When an HR Department is small, which some are, it’s even more essential to identify ways to ease benefits administration duties.
One of our clients has many commonly owned companies that are self-insured together. Despite being commonly covered, it’s of value for them to be segmented out for payroll, billing, and other internal purposes. They are also in an industry where employees are laid off during the off-season. Upon their return to work, their benefits need to be reinstated without requiring a new eligibility waiting period. We learned that our client was using several systems and spreadsheets to manually track data, which takes an abundance of time and effort.
With this client’s unique needs, we knew that a benefit administration system would help make their lives easier. But, not just any benefit administration system. We invested the time necessary to vet out vendors by completing system demos and employer reference checks to ensure we identified a robust system with the proper capabilities. Through our vendor vetting process, we discovered that our selected vendor offered a suite of services that our client is now benefitting from today, which include COBRA Administration and ACA reporting services.
